Skills Trainer

Responsible for participant training, skill acquisition and successful adjustment to the workplace. Works as part of a team to provide support, guidance, education and supervision for individuals with developmental disabilities or other barriers to competitive employment in accordance with the mission of Goodwill Industries and all state regulations by performing the following duties. May be assigned to work directly with one or more individuals. May work in Work Activity Center or on site at community employment placement to support one or more individuals. Provides training with participants at the workstation to assure job mastery acceptable to the employer. Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and insurable driving record. May be occasionally required to drive a vehicle to another work site or transport participants. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Technical skills- share expertise with others. Customer Service – Meets commitments. Interpersonal skills – focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things. Oral communication – Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions.
