SUMMARY
Provide vocational services, tools and resources to assist job seekers obtain immediate employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directly provide job preparation services for individuals seeking work.
Offer individual employment counseling; provide appropriate job lead referrals;
- Coach individuals on job search strategies; assist with application materials;
- Write resumes; and provide information and referral services to address employment barriers.
Deliver employment related workshops.
Coordinate and maintain vocational related resources and referral information.
Train temporary/volunteer staff to assist job seekers and maintain program data entry.
Understand local employer’s needs to assist job seekers match their skills to employment opportunities in the community.
Maintain the documentation of program outcomes including intakes, job placement and employment status of program participants.
Ensure that all relevant data and records are accurately entered into appropriate databases and maintain confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to pass an Oregon Department of Human Services criminal background check and must be able to pass a UA. These are non-negotiable. Employee must immediately inform Director of any arrests and/or convictions that occur while employed at Goodwill.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university in rehabilitation, social work, business or related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to build relationships and trust with clients, instill motivation and offer value added customer service for those seeking work.
Experience assisting individuals with self-sufficiency, vocational goals or related counseling practices preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and maintain client case notes.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and the general public.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient knowledge of basic office software; ability to type 35-45 wpm.
Ability to utilize MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Outlook.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possess a valid Oregon driver license and insurable driving record.
